New Sometu group on LinkedIn

Sometimes it's better to ask for forgiveness than to ask for permission :-)

I took the liberty of creating a group called 'Sometu' on LinkedIn, with the following description:

"(...) Sometu stands for 'Sosiaalinen Media Oppimisen Tukena', or 'Social Media in Support of Learning'.

The people in our network share a common interest in new ways of working and new tools brought about by social media, which support and advance learning both on an individual and a community level.

Our primary Internet presence is at http://sometu.ning.com. The site sports a Finnish user interface but features a section called 'Sometu in English' as well, at http://sometu.ning.com/group/english.

This LinkedIn group offers an additional way for people interested in Sometu to stay in touch, through an English user interface. (...)"

Sometu in English in search for a structure and for people taking responsibility for the bridge building to get in touch with other cultures and language groups.

@jos. Actually it should not be redirecting. You can access sometu in both ways. :-)

For some people, whom are not familier with our network the sometu.fi might be easier to find. :-)

BTW, I noticed that at some point http://sometu.ning.com/ redirects to http://www.sometu.fi. No problem with that, but there was something interesting about the old URL. First time I saw it, I read it as "Some Tuning", which I felt was quite clever, memorable, and even to-the-point! :-)

@Anne, good idea! I just submitted this question to Ning support: "Is it possible to subscribe to an RSS feed of a "comment wall" within a group?"

@Sanna, yes, I agree that http://www.sometu.fi/profiles/profile/emailSettings seems to be the easiest way to have this English group's content pushed. It's just not RSS, but it's okay for now :-)
